Characteristics

TA900X HIGHLY FLEXIBLE TILE ADHESIVE grey tile adhesive is a premium-grade, cement-based adhesive formulated to deliver superior bonding strength and flexibility. Its C2TES1 classification indicates that it meets high standards for adhesion strength, extended open time, and improved slip resistance, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

The adhesive is designed for thin-bed installation, providing a strong bond with minimal thickness. The inclusion of additives improves workability and water retention properties, allowing for longer installation times without compromising performance. It is also highly resistant to temperature variations, making it suitable for areas exposed to thermal cycles. The excellent flexibility ensures that the tiles remain securely bonded even in areas prone to slight movements or vibrations.

Ingredients

  • Cement-based binder: Portland cement
  • Fine aggregates: Silica sand
  • Polymers: Modified with synthetic resins to improve adhesion, flexibility, and workability
  • Additives: To enhance water retention, slip resistance, and extend open time

Suitable for Fixing

Recommended Substrates

  • Concrete, plaster, and brick walls (smooth and dry)
  • Cement-based screeds, and existing ceramic or porcelain tiles (after proper preparation)
  • Lightweight, porous surfaces (with primer)
  • Both interior and exterior surfaces

Surface Preparation:

  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Smooth out rough areas and level the substrate if necessary.

Priming:

  • Apply a suitable primer for highly porous surfaces before adhesive application.

Mixing:

  • Mix the adhesive powder with clean water (typically 5-6 parts adhesive to 1 part water) until a smooth, lump-free paste is achieved.

Application:

  • Use a notched trowel to spread the adhesive evenly over the substrate. Apply in small sections to allow proper work time.

Tile Placement:

  • Place tiles firmly into the adhesive bed within the open time window, ensuring proper alignment and leveling.

Curing:

  • Allow the tiles to set for 24-48 hours before grouting.
