Characteristics

TA300 UNIVERSAL TILE ADHESIVE is a high-performance cementitious (C1) grey tile adhesive formulated as per IS 15477:2019 standards. It is designed for the installation of ceramic tiles and moisture-resistant natural stones on walls and floors. It provides strong adhesion, easy workability, and long-lasting durability, making it ideal for residential and commercial applications.

Ingredients

  • Grey cement (conforming to IS 269 or IS 1489)
  • Well-graded quartz sand for optimal texture
  • Polymer additives to enhance adhesion and flexibility
  • Specialized performance enhancers for improved workability

Suitable for Fixing

  • Ceramic wall and floor tiles
  • Moisture-resistant, non-translucent natural stone tiles
  • Small to medium-format vitrified and porcelain tiles

Recommended Substrates

  • Cementitious screeds and concrete surfaces
  • Plastered walls (cement plaster, lime-cement plaster)
  • Brick masonry and aerated concrete blocks
  • Calcium sulfate-based and gypsum-based substrates (with proper priming)
  • Old ceramic tile surfaces (after appropriate surface preparation)
  • Waterproofing membranes and cementitious waterproof coatings

Substrate Preparation

  • The surface should be sound, level, dry, and free from dust, grease, or loose particles.
  • Concrete surfaces must be cured for at least 28 days before tiling.
  • Cement screeds should have a residual moisture content of ≤ 2.0% (unheated) or ≤ 1.8% (heated).
  • Gypsum-based substrates must be dry, properly primed, and have a residual moisture content of ≤ 0.5% (unheated) or ≤ 0.3% (heated).

Mixing

  • Mix FKU 100C with clean, potable water in a ratio of approximately 3:1 (powder to water by weight).
  • Use a mechanical stirrer to obtain a smooth, lump-free consistency.
  • Allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes, then stir again before use.

Application

  • Apply the adhesive using a notched trowel, ensuring a uniform spread across the substrate.
  • Press tiles firmly into place within the open time to achieve full contact.
  • Ensure at least 80% coverage for dry areas and 100% coverage for wet areas.
  • Tile adjustments can be made within a few minutes before setting begins.

Curing & Grouting

  • Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before grouting.
  • Protect the installation from excess moisture, direct sunlight, and frost during curing.
  • Use a suitable grout as per the tile type and application area.
